The Steelers offense got rolling with a nine-yard completion to Heath Miller and Jonathan Dwyer moved the chains with a six-yard carry. Le’Veon Bell added a two-yard carry and Ben Roethlisberger avoided the pressure and hit Antonio Brown for a 24-yard gain to the 21-yard line. Roethlisberger couldn’t connect with Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery in the end zone, but on third down went back to Cotchery over the middle for a 12-yard gain. Cotchery capped the drive diving for the goal line on a nine-yard touchdown catch for an early 7-0 lead.
The Browns moved the ball on the ensuing drive, with Jason Campbell guiding them from their own 20-yard line to the Steelers 26-yard line. The defense came up big, with Brett Keisel sacking Campbell, forcing a fumble and Chris Carter recovered at the 23-yard line.
The Browns got the ball right back, though, when Craig Robertson intercepted Roethlisberger. The defense stepped up big, and on fourth down Josh Cooper couldn’t hold on to Campbell’s pass and the Steelers took over on downs.
