The Packers won the toss and elected to receive, but a fired up Steelers’ defense forced a three and out after Lawrence Timmons sacked Matt Flynn for an eight yard loss on third-and-two.
Le’Veon Bell got things going for the Steelers with an 11-yard run and Heath Miller added a six-yard reception. But penalties backed the Steelers up, forcing a Mat McBriar punt.
Flynn went to work from the Packers 13-yards line, driving them down the field where he connected with James Boykin for a five-yard touchdown pass to cap a 13 play, 87 yard drive in 5:19 for a 7-0 lead.
Bell got the call again to open the drive, rushing for two yards and then breaking free for a 22-yard gain. Ben Roethlisberger went to the air, hitting Antonio Brown for a 36-yard gain to the Packers 13-yard line. Bell added a two-yard carry and fought for seven more. On third and one he converted with a three-yard carry. Roethlisberger found a wide open Emmanuel Sanders in the end zone for the three-yard touchdown to tie it at 7-7 at the end of the first quarter.
