The Packers got rolling again to start the second quarter with Matt Flynn hitting James Boykin for a 21-yard gain, and a 15-yard roughing the passer call on Cam Heyward was tacked on. Vince Williams held Eddie Lacy to a one-yard gain, and Flynn scrambled and was held to a one-yard gain. On third-and-eight Flynn hit Jordy Nelson for an eight-yard gain, but the play was negated when Josh Sitton was called for a facemask against Jason Worilds, giving the Packers a third-and-23. Flynn had nowhere to go on the play, and was sacked by Worilds for a two-yard loss.
Antonio Brown put the Steelers in good field position with a 41-yard punt return to the Green Bay 48-yard line. The offense wasn’t able to take advantage though, after Le’Veon Bell was stopped for no gain on a third-and-two forcing another Steelers’ punt.
The defense came up with another stop, and the Steelers offense went back to work. Ben Roethlisberger hit Brown for 18 yards, but couldn’t connect with him deep. On third-and-nine Roethlisberger was sacked by Clay Matthews for a five-yard loss.
Flynn got the Packers offense in gear with a 21-yard completion to James Jones and Eddie Lacy added 11 yards. Jordy Nelson added an eight-yard carry and Lacy broke through the middle for 11 yards to the Steelers 14-yard line. Lacy went off left end for a 14-yard touchdown to give the Packers a 14-7 lead.
Emmanuel Sanders returned the kickoff 46 yards to give the Steelers a chance to get on the board before the half. Felix Jones had a seven-yard carry and Heath Miller added a six-yard reception. Roethlisberger hit Jerricho Cotchery for nine yards to set up a third-and-one. Bell broke free for a 10 yard gain, With time running out in the half Shaun Suisham hit a 31-yard field goal to close the gap to 14-10 at halftime.
