Steelers trail Dolphins, 10-7, at halftime

Posted by Teresa Varley on December 8, 2013 – 2:21 pm

Emmanuel Sanders gave the Steelers good field position with a 26-yard kickoff return to the 35-yard line. Le’Veon Bell wen up the middle for four yards, but Chris Clemons broke up a pass to Heath Miller that would have been a first down. The Steelers were forced to punt after Antonio Brown couldn’t pull in a first down grab.

The Dolphins looked like they were going to move the ball on their ensuing drive, with Daniel Thomas going off right guard for three yards and Ryan Tannehill hitting Dion Sims for a seven-yard gain. On the next play Tannehill couldn’t hold on to the ball and was sacked by Jason Worilds for a seven-yard loss. After two incompletions the Dolphins were forced to punt.

It would be the Dolphins defense that would come up big when Cameron Wake sacked Ben Roethlisberger, forcing a fumble that Randy Starks recovered. The Dolphins took advantage, with Tannehill capping their drive with a six-yard touchdown pass to Charles Clay for the 10-7 lead.

Halftime: Steelers 7, Dolphins 10
