Steelers, Browns tied after first quarter, 3-3

Posted by Teresa Varley on November 24, 2013 – 1:34 pm

First Quarter

Cleveland won the toss, but deferred, giving the Steelers the ball to start the game. Ben Roethlisberger opened it up with a 14-yard pass to Emmanuel Sanders, and Le’Veon Bell added a 13-yard carry off right guard. Working out of the no-huddle Roethlisberger hit Heath Miller over the middle for 12-yards and then back to Bell for four-yards off right tackle to the Browns 27-yard line. That was as far as the Steelers would go, as the Browns stopped Bell for consecutive one-yard losses. Shaun Suisham, kicking into the wind, got the Steelers on the board with a 47-yard field goal and early 3-0 lead.

The Browns came right back after Fozzy Whittaker returned the kickoff 32 yards to the Browns 35-yard line. Jason Campbell hit Josh Gordon for 24 yards to the Steelers 36-yard line. A false start gave the Browns a second-and-15, and Chris Ogbonnaya gained five yards off left guard. Campbell hit Davone Bess for only five yards, coming up short of the first down. The Browns had to settle for a 49-yard Billy Cundiff field goal to tie the game at 3-3.

Nose tackle Steve McLendon was injured on the final play of the quarter.

At the end of the quarter, game tied at 3-3

Steelers Nation Radio is not playing the game broadcast. Instead, a repeating message tells me that I can hear the game on Steelers Nation Radio. So far, I’ve missed the first quarter.

Please help to fix this problem.
