Steelers Game Notes

Our Defense allowed only 16 points the first game and 20 points last night. While I’m not real happy about our seeming lack of Run Defense, I feel our D did its job. So why didn’t we win…?

Steelers just can’t get a break right now it a long season ante over yet. See how bad the Ravens were last year and won the Super Bowl

I am a lawyer who makes his living in analyzing complex situations and coming up with creative and reasonable solutions. I am writing this comment as a fan and as a former college player who understands the game. My comments are as follows:
1. Looking at all the statistics about the Steelers offense from previous years and the two seasons, it is apparent that there is a reduction in the efficacy of the offense. Replacing the offensive coordinator was something that occurred at or around the time when the offense started to decline. Now, we cannot expect no transition period from one system to another. However, you must at least show signs of improvement. There have not been any signs of life in the offense since Todd Haley took over as offensive coordinator.
2. I understand that the Rooney family and the Steeler way is to not make big name moves and to rely on the draft to get players. This philosophy is good to an extent, but there are times where this philosophy needs to allow flexibility to gain some big name players. Steelers need big name offensive linemen and a big name cornerback.
3. Look at the statistics. EVERY team in the last seven years that has beat the Steelers, did so through the air and not on the ground. There have only been a few 100 yard rushers against the Steelers. Yet, Steelers lose games because teams pass on the Steelers. Steelers have NO solution to the quick passing route. Teams are starting to realize this and continue to exploit this weakness. Therefore, get at least one shutdown cornerback.
It is painful to watch someone do the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I dont expect anyone to get back in touch with me considering the massive amount of mail you receive. But, if by some miracle, someone wishes to speak to me, I would love the opportunity to speak with someone.
