Plenty to be thankful for

Posted by Teresa Varley on November 21, 2012 – 2:46 pm

Steelers’ players have plenty to be thankful for, and shared what they are most thankful for.

LaMarr Woodley
“I am thankful for family, friends and having a healthy life.”

Max Starks
“I am thankful for my family. That is first and foremost. They gave me the tools, morals and ethics to be in the position to give back and have the heart to want to give.”

Charlie Batch
“I am thankful to be around my family on Thanksgiving where a lot of people are not. We always open our home to people on the team on Thanksgiving who can’t be with their family to make it a more memorable holiday season. A lot of people don’t realize we don’t get holidays off so people are away from their families.”

Drew Butler
“I am most thankful for the new family that brought me in here in Pittsburgh. The Steelers organization is fantastic, the front office, the coaches, the staff, and the players. It’s a close knit family here and it reminds me of what it is like at home. I am thankful they brought me in with open arms and it’s been a good relationship so far.”

Maurkice Pouncey
“I am thankful for my parents, my little girl, my fiancé, my sisters and brother and my football career.”

John Malecki
“For having such great friends and family and the support they give me in everything I do in life. You really learn to appreciate it once you leave the city and come back. It’s been a blessing for me to be able to stay around Pittsburgh for most of my life. I always have mom and dad to lean on.

Greg Warren
“I am thankful to be in a position to give back to people who support us in everything we do. We like to be able to show our thanks and appreciation for that.”

Chris Rainey
“I am thankful for family, friends, teachers, and coaches. I am thankful for everybody who has been there for me. I am always thankful.”

Kelvin Beachum
“I am thankful for being alive. That is a great thing to be thankful for. Being able to use the platform I have to impact other people is something I wouldn’t be able to do it if I wasn’t alive.”

I am thankful that we have a football organization that is steeped with proper tradition. Integrity, loyalty, honor and most of all a sense of family and community.
Thank you Rooney Family for creating the fabric that is the envy of every NFL franchise!
