Steelers Hall of Famers Jack Butler and Dermontti Dawson had their Hall of Fame lockers unveiled at a ceremony in the FedEx Great Hall at Heinz Field on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s a special weekend here in Pittsburgh,” said Steelers President Art Rooney II. “As many of you know since we moved into Heinz Field we had these lockers where all of the Hall of Famers have some memorabilia stored. We are excited to add two of our all-time great players to this.”
The lockers are filled with memorabilia from their careers, including jerseys, football, photos, game programs and more.
“I don’t have much to say other than I am glad I am here,” said Butler, who was joined by much of his family at the ceremony. “I enjoy being here and I really appreciate it.”
Dawson had a busy day in Pittsburgh, and was thrilled to be capping it with the unveiling of his locker.
“I just want to thank all of you guys for being here,” Dawson told the crowd on hand, many wearing his #63 jersey. “I want to thank the Steelers organization and the Rooney family. This is a big honor for me. It’s great for people to be able to come see our lockers here. I appreciate it. I am really humbled by it.”
