Harrison misses practice, would like to play
Posted by on September 7, 2012 – 12:50 pmLinebacker James Harrison missed practice for the second day in a row on Friday as his knee continues to heal.
“The word is I didn’t practice today,” said Harrison. “The knee didn’t feel too good. They want to let it rest and see if rest will help it and make the decision when the game comes.”
Harrison said he would “definitely like to play,” but if the Steelers-Broncos game were today he wouldn’t be able to.
“There was a little swelling, nothing major,” said Harrison. “It’s more irritation and a little pain. The soft tissue hasn’t healed yet. It’s just sore.”
Harrison said he would list himself as a game time decision for Sunday night’s matchup in Denver, but isn’t sure what Coach Mike Tomlin has in mind.
“I don’t know,” said Harrison. “You would have to ask him. I am not in his head right now.”

do not play and risk more…let the season unfold first…come back 4rth or 5th game READY…the only way to heal is to rest it…practice stunts rehab progress…we all know you can play…play when it matters….first half of season is a grind…second half is for keeps…

The best thing you can do is rest it. If you decide to ply you will risk a season ending injury. Do your best to get 100% before playing. That;s the smartest thing you can do fo yourself.

there’s nothing I enjoy more than watching you play, but it’s a long season and the team needs you healthy for the long run. rest if you have to you’ll be in better shape for the long haul. it not worth taking a chance at making your injury worse. Always faithful to the black and gold. .

@Mike Tomlin: put him on the sideline as long as the steelers are in front, even if he would be able to play. and if something comes down to a game-deciding drive by Peyton and James really is able to play, you can still put him in, to make the gamewinning play!

As much as I know you would like to play against Denver for some revenge, your knee health is more important, Let it rest and do some rehab a few more weeks, we are going to need you down the stretch brother. By the way I had arthroscopy done on my knee 3 weeks ago to repair a torn meniscus and I still am rehabing along with the swelling and pain. Hang in there James and good luck for the rest of your season.

The Steeler’s Nation ALL care about you as shown in the above comments make no mistake about that. You have earned the world’s Respect too and have nothing to prove to anyone, most of all Yourself! Take the time to heal completely and extend your career vs shorten or even end it by coming back too soon! Take care My Man! You are the BEST!

Dude if you do not play, Peyton Manning will be so happy, because he will get to play the rest of the season. You are the most feared defensive player we have!!! Thanks for playing the way you do!!!!!
