It’s DeCastro
Posted by on April 26, 2012 – 10:21 pmThe Steelers have selected G David DeCastro with their No. 1 pick. In my opinion, they got another Alan Faneca. He should be inserted into the starting lineup from Day 1 and team with Maurkice Pouncey to upgrade significantly the middle of the Steelers offensive line. Great value here. Great value. He’s 6-5, 316. Nasty. Familiar with a pro-style offense. Smart, obviously from Stanford, but football smart as well. Moves very well, maybe the best of all the O-linemen at the combine.

Agree. When I first did a mock I was hoping DeCastro would fall down to the Steelers but I was a realist and thought “no way!” Guess I was wrong and couldn’t be more happier about it!!!

Could not be more optomistic,about his future value to the O-line… Consistency plays a huge part,in how dominating the unit play can become… I LOVE this pick,and it should go down,as another in a long line,of 1st round picks,by the scouting & Colbert’s hard work… Way to go Steelers,it may not be a secy pick,but come October,he will be cemented in as a starter,and pancaking defenders of all positions…
