The voters got it right so far. Lambert was the best ever with Ham in second place. They both are in the HOF. I think they are the best ever at their respective positions, Lambert on the inside, and Ham on the outside. However, Lambert was just the best. I can see him now moving his feet before the snap of the ball. The QB had to be scared to death seeing him move his feet like that. He was a tough guy who made the tough image of the Steelers. Just call him the poster child for the tough image of the Steelers. There will never be another like him!

Jack Lambert was the total embodiment of the Steelers Defense, he was the face and the attitude of a defense that commanded total respect from their opponents!!! I disagree that Dick Butkus was the all-time best MLB, Lambert was a more complete MLB for a number of reasons. First he was a great run stuffer, second he was a great pass defender, he had a natural ability to always be where the ball was, he was not near as big as other great MLB… but he sure as hell hit ever bit as hard as they did!!! I don’t care what all the polls say, he was the best ever MLB to ever play in the NFL, and he was the greatest Steeler to ever wear the Black and Gold… enough said!!! Collectively, the Steelers linebackers through out the years have been had some of the best linebacking crews to play in the NFL… but Lambert, Ham and Russell were the cream of the crop!!! I’m a lifetime member of the Lambert’s Lunatics, best ever fan club in Steeler Nation!!! Jack Lambert, best ever all-time MLB for the Steelers and the NFL… yesterday, today and forever the uncontested Champ!!!!

For 35 years I’ve been a Steelers Fan. Jack Lambert was, still is, and always will be the BEST MLB to wear the Black & Gold, or for that matter, to play the game, period! I wear my 75th Anniversary edition #58 for every game, be it in my living room or a sports bar. I’m as proud of that as I am my Steelers Logo surrounded by the 6 Super Bowls tatooed on my right arm at 61!

Jack Lambert was the greatest linebacker to ever play this position. His looks, his hard play and his knowledge of the game has not been met by any other linebacker to date. I have his 58 jersey and his grinning photo and show them off every season, letting everyone know that he set the bar which no player has met yet and probably never will
